The music of ARTBLAU is based on Miles Davis legendary album „Kind Of Blue“. It has been rehearsed and developed collectively by some of the finest improvisors from Cologne.
ARTBLAU transfers the spirit of „Kind Of Blue“ into a new abstract music. The mood of the original is base for the compositions and the play of the musicians.
Some times very close, clearly identifiable, some times distant like a background radiation.

Ausgehend von Miles Davis legendären Jazzalbum „Kind Of Blue“ entstand eine Musik, die in einem zehnköpfigen Ensemble über ein Jahr hinweg bearbeitet wurde.
Ziel war hierbei, stilbildende Elemente aus Miles Davis Musik frei zu legen und in einem völlig anderen, zeitgenössischem Gestus neu zu verweben.
Jazz als Hintergrundstrahlung, der Vordergrund ist Neue Musik bzw. aktuelle Improvisation und einige der besten Improvisationskünster*innen die Köln zu bieten hat.
